Today we review a special release from Laphroaig - this is their Cairdeas release from 2023! The Cairdeas is an annual release from Laphroaig in celebration of Feis Ile. The 2023 release release is a vatting of second-fill madeira (2/3 of the vatting) and first-fill white port casks (1/3 of the vatting). Outside of some of the normal Islay notes the nose is amazing but the palate doesn't carry through. We enjoyed the proof but the price is a little high for what ended up being a little underwhelming!! Cheers!
