Day 110 (February 12, 2026) marked the final gathering of the 2,300-mile cross-country Walk for Peace on the East Coast. After completing their primary destination in Washington, D.C., the group of 19 Buddhist monks and their dog, Aloka, moved to Annapolis, Maryland, to conclude their 110-day pilgrimage. Day 110 Schedule (February 12, 2026) 9:00 AM – Final Walk: The walk began at Gate 6 of the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. 10:00 AM – Peace Gathering: A final ceremony and gathering took place on the steps of the Maryland State House. 12:30 PM – Departure: The monks boarded a charter bus to begin their return journey to the Hương Đạo Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Journey Highlights Total Distance: Approximately 2,300 miles starting from Fort Worth, Texas, on October 26, 2025. Washington, D.C. Arrival: The monks entered the District on Day 108 (February 10) via the Chain Bridge and held major events at the Lincoln Memorial and Washington National Cathedral on Day 109. Purpose: To promote peace, mindfulness, and compassion, and to advocate for Vesak to be recognized as a federal holiday. Homecoming: A final "homecoming walk" is scheduled for February 14 in Fort Worth, where the monks will walk the last six miles back to their temple.
