Normally, I don't do the Gummi missions, since there's usually plenty of information on completing them. Crucial information has gotten lost for this particular mission, however, so I decided to just do this. You will need to know how to make a donut ship to follow this guide (although I show my setup at the end of the video, with my abilities visible right before I select the ship). First off, you likely have seen guides mention destroying the cruisers for items. They are NOT referring to the small ships you can ram into, but the much bigger vessels. While you'll see many more than just 4, only 4 are close enough to be damaged by your ship this mission, so you must destroy all of them for the items. Since you can't ram them like the smaller ships, due to being out of reach, you'll need some serious firepower to destroy them in time. In the original KH2, you would need to bring 3+ cockpits using the standard cannon weapons (laser weapons can't target them) and sometimes look backward to destroy them. Fortunately, the new weapons in KH2FM, especially the Shurikens, make destroying the cruisers much easier. You can get two of them in the 2nd EX missions of Asteroid Sweep and Sunlight Storm. Asteroid Sweep's requires 50 power, which can be achieved early in the game with only a couple cockpits. Sunlight Storm's is one of those pre-built model missions, but all the Falcon models are excellent ships, so you should have no trouble with that, either. If you can't get the 2nd one, though, you can find another Shuriken in Assault of the Dreadnought's EX 1. Even if you can get all the items, you will have to beat Hunter-X at the end to keep them, and it is an extremely ruthless super boss on all difficulties. I will cover every attack phase it does, since even if you can kill it early like I did, it might take longer while equipped with the Drain weapon (which is required for EX 3), so it's best to be prepared. Phase 1: Homing dagger bullets that are normally used by the Phoenix Nobodies. Just stay in the middle. Phase 2: Standard bullets. If you sit still, one of them will actually hit you, and you can kiss S+10 goodbye, as it'll cut your medal level in half. If you look closely, I spin once right around when you would normally get hit, which will let you dodge the stray bullet. Phase 3: Explosion spam. Stay in the center to avoid getting hit. Phase 4: Explosions from top to bottom. They explode in 9 different spots from left-to-right, top-to-bottom. As such, you can't just stay in the middle. Either move down after the standard bullets from the previous phase pass, then back up once explosion 5 has gone off, or go to the top of the screen after explosion 2 goes off. Phase 5: Similar to phase 3, so go back to the middle again. Phase 6: Hunter-X charges up for 4 cross-shaped blade attacks. First X, then +, then X, then +. While they don't cause instant death, their damage is in the triple digits, so it's unlikely you'll have the HP to survive even one hit. Make sure to dodge off to the sides and corners, depending on which attack it is. Once it's almost dead (end of phase 3 in this video), it'll permanently switch to a weird phase-5 state, where it'll just throw everything at you, so get back to the center and finish it off. Oh, and apologies for any possible dizziness. Getting the best scores in mission 3s frequently requires looking forward and backward at the same time.
