La Graciosa is an island off the north-east coast of Lanzarote. Although comparatively small, in 2018 it officially became the eighth Canary Island. Access is gained via a ferry from Orzola. These run regularly and the crossing takes approximately 30 minutes. It's not particularly cheap (€28 return), but worth it if you like trail biking or hiking. There are no paved roads on the island and the only shops are in the harbour village of Caleta del Sebo. Make sure you are well stocked with fluids. Bikes can be rented on La Graciosa but it is also possible to bring one on the ferry. This trail is on the northern section of La Graciosa and you can see the small islet of Isla de Alegranza off to the north-west. The cycle comes to a fairly abrupt halt, as the sandy trail eventually becomes a sand trail and you will have to walk for about 500m at that point. Shot on a helmet-mounted GoPro10 camera.
