JU-ON THE GRUDGE | 4K Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary

Today we have something very special to archive. Back in 2009 an exclusive horror game for the Wii was released in the form of Ju-On The Grudge. This was to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the property that stars the famous white Japanese ghost with long, black hair. In The Grudge you play as different characters from the same family as they encounter the ghost Kayako in different locations. The game plays like a walking simulator with a very strange control scheme. You do not move with the stick, but instead press and hold the B button and point your wii remote in the direction that you want to go. While you are exploring the locations, many different jumpscares will occur. There are so many that quite a few do not hit, but others scared me pretty good. Sometimes there are action sequences where you have to shake the remote in a certain direction, but the problem is that if you mess up and get a game over, the game starts all the way at the beginning of the levels since there are no checkpoints. The walking is also so slow and there is no run or sprint button. The best things about this game are its graphics and atmosphere that were quite good for a Wii title. Some of the scares are very effective and the music is also creepy. I think this game actually is more enjoyable to watch than it is to play. It also is nowadays considered a very rare game and so I was happy to be able to pick it up at a second hand game convention a few months back.
