Traditional principles: Past behaviour predicts future behaviour Behavioural based questions standard traits: loyalty, conscientiousness, responsible, personable, handle conflict, deal with stress Professionalism / friendliness / diligence / initiative / disagree with positivity (advanced for recruiters) Standard skills: people / money / projects / time management / collaboration / negotiation 2. My personal opinion - going to vary HR primacy - must put in the time to get the right people Triad: Education / Experience / Personality Personality by far is most important (for most jobs) Therefore get to know them - WHY they've done things they've done What motivates/demotivates them. Myers Briggs What their real opinions are. NO talk about - demonstrate (as much as possible) Instead of interview, Flowing conversation - over coffee After 1 hour, opinions start to come out. 3. Can I motivate this person, and have shared incentives. Hiring manager - recommend Rule breaker: sheep or wolf or wolf in sheep's clothing Trust has to be earned - employee will not trust boss immediately, but vice versa too. Fan of covert probationary periods. (9 months, but really 6 months) 4. Afterwards, training: How to handle conflict in groups etc. Eliminate groupthink etc. How to disagree in a positive way etc. 5.
