We take a POV ride on 2x Kone escalators at the Great Northern building - in an old railway warehouse in the Deansgate area of Manchester City Centre. This set of escalators have see through sides so you can see the motor and workings! 🌟 Dont worry, I have made sure to have a really long ride and show everything - inside and out, you can see the machinery turning around inside… Did you know?… Originally these 2 escalators were installed in the criss-cross arrangement. When the building use changed upstairs, one of the escalators was taken down and turned around, put back and they’re now in the parallel arrangement. This had to be done as there was a wall built where one of them would have led to. Enjoy! If you do, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE. Plenty more like this is on the way... Comment any useful info or possible suggestions for future videos. Thanks! 😎 **Built at the Keighley, England 🏴 factory at the beginning of 2000. They are the type RTV-T and run really well. The up escalator just has a slight squeak from its right handrail at the bottom. *This is the same building that houses the Odeon cinema (ex AMC). In that section there’s a set of 3x Kone escalators like these but without see-through sides. They were installed in December 1999 by O&K (Kone) and branded just as Kone - this was common for the British built ones right at the end of 1999. At the start of 2000, the serial plates also began to say Kone rather than O&K which is why these did (made in Jan 2000). Also, please excuse the noise 👂. Theyve put a few ping pong 🏓 tables upstairs at the top of these escalators so you can hear that all the time 😅
