Israel Claims IRGC Commander Mohammad Pakpour Eliminated In Strikes

Israel claims that its missile strikes on Tehran has killed Iran Revolutionary Guards Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Pakpour. Born in 1961, Mohammad Pakpour was the internationally designated commander of the Ground Forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Pakpour has earned a PhD in political geography from Tehran University. Pakpour holds the rank of brigadier-general. He has led Iranian forces in the Syrian Civil War. In June 2019 during his first tenure, U.S. President Donald Trump sanctioned Pakpour with other IRGC officials in June 2019 as part of a series of renewed sanctions on Iran. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards says it has launched first large-scale wave of retaliatory missile and drone strikes towards Israel. A senior Iranian official has reportedly said that they are telling Israel to “prepare for what is coming, and our response will be public, and there are no red lines”. “All American and Israeli assets and interests in the Middle East have become a legitimate target.
