After arriving an hour earlier from Jerez (LEJR), @EdThePilot and @DaniellaTheCoPilot taxi out for departure from Runway 17 at Cascais Airport (LPCS) in Fly in Spain's C172P (OEKTM), bound for Portimao (LPPM), on the Algarve coast. As always, it's a busy day at Cascais, with multiple corporate and training aircraft movements taking place, compounded by a recent runway change. We join them after engine start, commencing their taxi to the holding point for Runway 17, where they anticipate to receive their departure instructions. As is the case with VFR arrivals, @EdThePilot expects to transit through the South-East VFR 'Tunnels' on departure to Brejos da Carregueira, the final VRP of the departure routing. They will then climb to a cruise level of 5,500 ft, flying along the West coast of Portugal to Barragem da Bravura, the North-West VRP for Portimao.
