An International Baccalaureate World School Northeast Middle School (NEMS) is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, the mission of which is "to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect." The Middle Years Programme To accomplish this mission, NEMS offers the IB’s Middle Years Programme (MYP), "a challenging framework that encourages students of all interests and abilities to make practical connections between their studies and the real world." Academic Areas This framework is aligned with NEMS’ academic offerings in the areas of the Arts (including Band, Choir, Dance, and Visual Arts), English Language Arts, Health and Physical Education, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies (including Black Culture and Ethnic Studies), and World Languages (including French, Ojibwe, and Spanish).
