Carl Cox is a legendary British DJ, producer, and electronic music pioneer whose career spans over four decades. Born on July 29, 1962, in Oldham, England, Cox began his journey in music as a teenager, spinning disco records at parties before transitioning into the burgeoning house and techno scenes of the 1980s. His dynamic three-deck mixing technique and infectious energy quickly set him apart, earning him a reputation as one of the most skilled and charismatic DJs in the world.   Cox’s influence is deeply rooted in the global dance music culture. He was a central figure in the UK’s acid house and rave movements, performing at iconic events like The Eclipse and Amnesia House. His 1991 debut single, “I Want You (Forever),” achieved commercial success, but Cox remained committed to the underground scene, becoming a staple at major festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and The BPM Festival. From 2001 to 2016, he held a renowned residency called “Music is Revolution” at Space Ibiza, solidifying his status as a global ambassador for techno and house music.    Beyond his performances, Cox has significantly contributed to the industry through his record labels. He founded Intec Records (now Intec Digital) in the late 1990s, focusing on techno releases, and in 2018, he co-founded Awesome Soundwave, a label dedicated to live electronic music artists. His long-running radio show, Global, aired from 2001 to 2017, reaching millions of listeners worldwide and showcasing his eclectic taste and support for emerging talent.  Cox’s accolades include multiple DJ Awards, where he has been recognized as Best International DJ and Best Techno DJ numerous times. His autobiography, Oh Yes, Oh Yes!, released in 2021, offers an in-depth look at his life, career, and enduring passion for music.   In addition to his musical endeavors, Cox has a profound interest in motorsports. In 2013, he established Carl Cox Motorsport, supporting various racing teams and events across disciplines like sidecar racing and drag racing.  Today, Carl Cox continues to inspire and entertain audiences around the globe, embodying the spirit of electronic music through his performances, productions, and unwavering dedication to the scene.
