We’ve arrived for our 30 days in Penang and our first stop is the incredible George Town Malaysia street art! George Town Penang hosts some of the best street art in the world and we are here to show you guys what it’s all about. George Town Malaysia is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Malaysia. When researching the best things to do in Penang George Town, street art is always high on the list so we just couldn’t miss it. In 2012, the city hired a Lithuanian, London trained street artists named Ernest Zacharevic. I apologize for saying he was British in the video! The George Town Penang street art is a must see Penang attraction. You can even rent a bike or take a ride on a trishaw for a leisurely roll around the streets of Georgetown. After enjoying the historic streets of Penang, we decided to head down to the Clan Jetty area for a beer and sunset. There are 8 Clan Jetties that are owned by private Chinese Malaysian families, passed down through generations. A fun fact about the Clan Jetty is that the residents don’t have to pay taxes for being built over water. What a loophole! Penang Island history is seen here at the Clan Jetties, a place where Anthony Bourdain chose to stay and experience authentic Chinese Malaysian culture. If the best street art in Malaysia doesn’t draw you to George Town Penang, the history, colorful streets and architecture is surely worth a visit. Plus, this is where some of the best food in the entire country resides.
