Artist Profile: Stephanie Ulven

Rooted in my life experiences as a multifaceted healer, mother and neuro-creative, I use art as both a mindful practice and a therapy. Each one of my pieces is an emotional outlet and a loving manifestation. I invite viewers to not only see, but to feel my art—to reach out touch, and experience the colors, textures and energy I pour into each one. While most of my canvases are done with Acrylic and/or Oil Paints for their tactile capabilities, I also enjoy creating with Oil Sticks, Alcohol Inks, Watercolors & Charcoal. As life and emotions are meant to be felt & shared together, I create each piece with the hope that people will want to make my art a sensory experience. Each one of my creations has a ‘Bio’ to accompany it as well. I always want to know Why another artist created a piece. Where their perspectives, ideas and reasons to create it, came from…Where was their emotional state when they created it? We put so much of ourselves into what we create, I always want to empathize as much as possible with the Artist. I always see their work so very differently when I know more about the artist, and the artists meaning behind the time of its creation…don’t you?
