Dairy farming- Heavy rain fell while our cows were grazing pasture outside in the fields/paddocks.

In the middle of summer, there is no sweeter sound than rain on the roof in the middle of the night. There are many parts of New Zealand that are beginning to get very dry and it is a stressful situation for cows and farmers alike. We were fortunate enough to get good rain out of this latest storm system to sweep the countryside. Hopefully the grass kicks away quickly and we can build our pasture cover back to what it was a few weeks ago. Join us today as we enjoy feeding the heifers, calves, cows and bulls on a wonderful rainy day on the farm. We are also feeding the cows some silage to fill them up and keep them milking well.
