The First Homes Scheme, is a new scheme to help First Time Buyers and Key Workers get onto the property ladder has been made available as of the 4th June 2021. This is called the First Homes Scheme. The first properties been made available available in the East Midlands in Derbyshire. With further properties being launched across England in upcoming weeks and months. Key Workers include: Serving Members and Veterans of the Armed Forces Public Staff including NHS Staff, Police, Firefighters and Teachers etc. What is the First Homes Scheme? It is a new government run scheme that will provide discounted homes to first-time buyers in England who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford one. The scheme are for first time buyers looking to purchase a new-build home in their community with a discount of 30%, but local councils are able increase the discount to 50% in areas where property prices are very high. This could see savings of around £100,000 or more. How to find homes under this scheme? Unfortunately, and rather annoyingly there is no dedicated website that lists all properties involved in the scheme. Perhaps this will come, once more homes come on the market. So in the meantime you will have to research locally to find out which developers are taking part. Once you have found one, you apply directly to the developer.
