4K Ultra HD Walking | Kotor, Montenegro | East of Kotor | End of city #walking #vlog #montenegro #kotor Local City Market, Nikola Đurković Cultural Center, Gurdic Gate and Ancient Roman Settlement… Walking towards the end of the city. 13th century gate to a drawbridge: Gurdich Gate Coming from the east you will probably come across the Gurdic Gate first (before the other gates). Or if you've just toured the castle wall, you can catch it on your way out of the Old Town. Not as impressive as the Kampana Tower (on the north side), but still nice to see. This narrow and high stone passage passes through the Gurdić Bastion, built in 1470. Just beyond this arch is the Vrata od Gurdića, or South Gate. It is the oldest of the three city portals. It was first built in the 9th century. The current version is from the 13th century. The middle gate consists of the western wall towards the Gurdić source, the southern wall with the Romanesque gate, a staircase leading to the promenade, and the promenade itself. From there, you can ride a wooden suspension bridge over a small pond called the Gurdić spring. This will take you out of the city and back to the port. But there are many more places to see in Stari Grad. Considered one of the oldest preserved parts of the city walls of Kotor, this section can be dated to the 13th century in terms of preserved stylistic features, materials and construction techniques. The South Gate is connected to the North Gate via Craftsman Street via the old city. During the daytime, you can see stalls selling souvenirs and seafood before reaching the door. There are fewer tourists in this part of town, and the narrow streets leading to the gate and bastion make it easy to imagine you're being taken back a few centuries.
