CNN shocked by new poll showing more Americans support DOGE’s spending cuts

CNN data guru Harry Enten was left shocked following the release of a new poll about the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). On Thursday, Enten reported on a CBS/YouGov poll that showed a majority of Americans support DOGE’s efforts to cut federal spending. According to the poll, 54 per cent of Americans support Elon Musk and DOGE having some influence over government spending and operations. The CNN hosts were shocked by the poll results as anti-DOGE/ Musk protests by the Democrats and their supporters raged on for weeks. “This, to me, was one of the more shocking figures that I saw. It made me go, ‘Wait a minute, hold on one second! Whoa’,” Enten said. A Washington Post/IPSOS poll found that 42 per cent of voters believe DOGE is cutting “wasteful” spending while only 36 per cent of Americans believe that DOGE is cutting “necessary programs”. Enten pointed out that despite the Democrats’ attempts to convince Americans that DOGE is cutting necessary programs, they do not believe them. “Democrats want to argue that the type of spending that Musk is cutting is mainly necessary programs, but that comes in at just,” he said.
