This route has grown in popularity and so you need to get up early to enjoy this traffic free but the views are stunning and so you don't really mind the slow pace. Honister Pass is arguably best travelled towards Keswick as the landscape narrows until you are squeezed through the small gap at the slate mine. Feeling adventurous? try the via Ferrata at the slate mine or for something less strenuous, visit Ashness bridge and the surprise view for stunning views across Derwent water. Crummock water 2:00 Buttermere village 8:00 Buttermere lake 10:00 Honister Pass 15:00
