Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) The Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib, is the holiest shrine of Sikhism and is located in Amritsar, Punjab. Built in the 16th century by Guru Arjan Dev, the temple symbolizes equality, humility, and devotion. Its stunning golden dome reflects beautifully in the sacred Amrit Sarovar (holy pond) that surrounds it, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. The temple welcomes people of all religions and is famous for its Langar, a free community kitchen that serves meals to thousands every day, promoting the values of selfless service and unity. Jallianwala Bagh Jallianwala Bagh is a historic public garden in Amritsar that stands as a symbol of sacrifice and bravery. It is the site of the tragic massacre that took place on 13 April 1919, when British troops opened fire on unarmed civilians who had gathered peacefully. Hundreds of innocent people lost their lives. Today, the memorial preserves the memory of those who died through bullet marks on the walls, a preserved well, and a flame of remembrance, reminding visitors of India’s struggle for freedom.
