In this video, I talk about extreme hunger in eating disorder recovery and my own experience dealing with extreme hunger in my eating disorder recovery journey. There were times I felt like I was eating "too much." But as I kept honoring my hunger, my extreme hunger went away and balanced out. I went "all in" to help me honor my extreme hunger. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted, and always ate to satiety. As I consistently honored my extreme hunger, it started to go away. I started craving fewer calories and my hunger has balanced out naturally. I had to stop restricting and cutting out food groups. Anorexia and extreme hunger can go hand in hand. Ed recovery and eating disorder recovery and extreme hunger are often connected. As someone restricts or suffers with restriction they can experience extreme hunger or binge eating. Going all in as a form of eating disorder recovery can be helpful to combat extreme hunger and help someone's hunger balance out naturally. Extreme hunger can also cause binge eating if not addressed. Extreme hunger in eating disorder recovery isn't something that should be ignored. There's a reason in ed recovery someone experiences extreme hunger after restriction.
