To Our Fanwood Families, As the summer break comes to an end, we are eagerly anticipating the return of our students for another exciting school year. The campus is alive and bustling preparing for our teachers and our children. As you visit our campus this coming fall please take note of the many facilities improvements designed to modernize and improve the appearance of our campus. First, I would like to start off by recognizing our 2023 Teacher and Staff Member of the Year. These individuals were chosen because of their exemplary dedication to our students and because of how they embody the spirit of Fanwood. NYSD Teacher of the Year Elena Burgos - Elementary Teacher NYSD Staff Member of the Year Patricia Noel-Rivera - Teaching Assistant It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to some of our esteemed staff members who have decided to pursue new opportunities. Join me in wishing farewell to PPS Director, Josh Loeffel, Secondary Principal, Rosy De La Cruz, and Athletic Director/Teaching Assistant, Nicolas Tegni. We extend our gratitude for their years of service and commitment to the betterment of our students' lives and wish them well in their future endeavors. We are conducting a thorough search for the next Middle & High School Principal. The search process for this critical role will be thorough; our goal is to identify an individual who exemplifies our mission and can continue our tradition of excellence. Our interview process will involve members of the community. In the meantime, NYSD’s Educational Leadership Team will be working together to share responsibilities, with support from the Superintendent, in order to ensure we can maintain the high level of services we provide to our students. Now, we are delighted to welcome several new educators and staff members to the Fanwood Family. These individuals come with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and expertise that will enrich the educational journey of our students. We look forward to introducing you on Opening Day and in the coming weeks. We would like to introduce two new key administrators with this message. Fanwood is eager to grow and expand our Athletics Program and extracurricular activities. To help us with these goals, we are excited to announce our new full-time Athletics Program Coordinator. Jeremy Cormier. Jeremy joins us with vast knowledge in coordinating and supervising athletic and after-school programs. We are also thrilled to officially announce the new Director of Pupil Personnel Services, Patti Marino-Aratingi. Patti, who served as NYSD’s School Psychologist for almost 30 years, has stepped into this role with dedication and expertise. She is well known for her exceptional and ongoing support of our students and their individual needs. Please join me in welcoming Patti to this role.
