In this video, I’ll be showing you how to make your own ethernet cables step by step. It’s way cheaper than buying premade cables, you can make them any length you want, and it’s quite easy once you get the hang of it! You’ll want to use either Cat6, Cat6a, or Cat5e ethernet cable, and matching RJ45 connectors. I’ll show you how to crimp the RJ45 connectors to the cable using an RJ45 crimp tool, as well as install strain relief boots on each end to complete the job. We’ll also test the cable using a basic cable tester. I use non-passthrough RJ45 connectors in this video, but you can still follow along if you’re using passthrough connectors. It just means it’ll be easier for you! You can find the tools I used in this video at the links below.
