The Black Mountain has been calling my name lately, and I've been fancying a camp on the summit of Picws Du. I'd been monitoring the weather throughout the week, it was looking good, then bad, then okay. On the day I set off, it was looking like I may have a sunny afternoon, but that all changed before I'd even reached my first summit. I quickly realised that a night on the summit would be a bad idea, and I decided to camp at Llyn y Fan Fach. It turned out to be a rather choppy night, and the weather became increasingly bad in the morning, so I made a decision to pack up and head off the mountain. It was a wise decision, as the weather became increasingly bad as I packed my tent away. But that said, it was a great night, I enjoy it when Mother Nature rocks up and tests you every now & again.
