A bright meteor (fireball) was seen in the evening sky around 7pm local time on March 8, 2026. The meteor was visible across parts of the Netherlands, including North Brabant, and also in western Germany. Many eyewitnesses reported seeing a bright streak of light moving across the sky. This video contains footage and recordings from witnesses who observed the meteor as it passed overhead. Meteors like this are often called "fireballs" when they appear unusually bright in the night sky. They occur when a small piece of space rock enters Earth's atmosphere at high speed and burns up due to friction. If you saw this meteor too, feel free to share your experience in the comments! /Edit: Some suggest that Earth is currently passing through the debris trail of comet 3I/Atlas, which may explain the recent increase in larger meteors, and more of these are expected over the next two months. Let’s keep an eye on that ☄️ If you enjoyed this video, please leave a comment 💬 with your thoughts.
