Review #40: Norikos Dinner Table Director: Sion Sono (suicide club, strange circus) Stars: Kazue Fukiishi (one missed call), Ken Mitsuishi (audition, nightmare detective 2) Year: 2005 Update: Check out tokyoswan.blogspot.com for my new site where I'll be posting updates about the videos and lots of fun stuff! There's a poll on there now for which review you want to see soon! The much awaited review for the sequel to the controversial Suicide Club. This is a great film that continues to build upon the social commentary from the first film, but is a much more mature and clearly thought out movie. While I dont consider this to be a horror film at all, because of its relationship to the original film it is often lumped into the horror genre when it is really a thought provoking and occasionally shocking family drama. This is a fantastic film that deserves to be in your collection, and stands firmly on its own even without the first film, so those of you turned off by the gore in Suicide Club can watch this movie on its own and still have a very rewarding cinematic experience. Still playing around with the review format, I addressed the sound issues present in the last review and I was able to improve the image quality somewhat as well. Personally, I think this is the best format for the reviews to take and Im really proud of my work on this one and it keeps me motivated to continue these reviews.
