I’m done dabbling.

“Fascination isn’t productive.” It took me a while to realize that. For a long time, I’ve been fascinated by a lot of things. Ideas, skills, projects, people creating things online. I’d watch, read, learn a little, try something for a bit… and somehow convince myself that I was being productive. But fascination and progress aren’t the same thing. I think I’ve been stuck in this loop for a while. Getting excited about things, starting them, dabbling in them, and then moving on to the next interesting thing before really committing. And recently I had a bit of a realization. Trying things isn’t the same as committing to them. So I decided to change something. For the next few months, I’m trying a small experiment with myself, every month, I focus on one skill. Just one. And instead of dabbling in ten things at once, I actually try to go deeper into it. This video is me talking about that shift, the mindset behind it, and why I’m done half-trying things that actually matter to me.
