The SOLARIS Project consortium held its Final Project Meeting on 26–27 January 2026 at Utrecht University Library. The two-day event was dedicated to reflecting on the societal, political, and ethical challenges posed by deepfakes and generative AI, as well as exploring pathways for responsible, inclusive and democratic AI governance. In this video, a carousel presentation demonstrating the key achievements of the project. The session is moderated by prof. Federica Russo, project leader and involves project partners: Andrew McIntyre, University of Amsterdam (Understanding deepfakes); Aseniya Dimitrova, Brand Media Bulgaria (Deepfake spreading); Giuditta Bassano, LUMSA University (giving meaning of images); Dolores Sanchez, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Deepfake regulation) Gjon Rakipi, AIIS (Democracy and deepfakes), Domenico Bloisi, Michele Brienza, CINI (Deepfake platform), Nejc Plohl, University of Maribor (psychology of deepfakes), Tommaso Tonello, Utrecht University (SOLARIS Use cases), Livio Fenga, UNEXE (Real-time detection), Romane Blassel, ECSA (AI for good), Angelo Tumminelli, LUMSA University (Ethical AI), Yasaman Yousefi, DEXAI (Policy recommendations).
