Wang Zhonghe has been retired for four years. He is my fellow countryman. I am from Hexigten Banner, and he is from Linxi County, a neighboring area. Our hometowns are less than 100 kilometers apart, and we had some interactions in our work. I know some things about his situation, but only to a limited extent. This guy is connected to Hu Chunhua, Li Pengxin, Wang Jun, and several others. As early as the second half of last year, I had already heard that he was being interviewed and investigated by the CCDI. For me, his downfall was just a matter of time—something expected and within reason. It was inevitable, though it happened slightly later than I had anticipated. Today, I will share with my friends the story of Wang Zhonghe. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the CCDI has taken down a total of 20 deputy provincial-level officials in Inner Mongolia. Among them, eight had already been transferred out of Inner Mongolia. As a frontier ethnic autonomous region, Inner Mongolia ranks among the top provinces in China in terms of the number of officials fallen due to corruption investigations. The list includes United Front Minister Wang Suyi, Executive Vice Chairman Pan Yiyang, Vice Chairmen Zhao Liping, Bai Xiangqun, Ma Ming, and Wang Bo. Additionally, Hohhot Party Secretary Han Zhiran and Yun Guangzhong, as well as Baotou Party Secretaries Xing Yun and Wang Zhonghe, were all implicated. Among those who were transferred out of Inner Mongolia before being taken down are Mo Jiancheng, Bai Enpei, Yun Gongmin, Shi Wenqing, Song Liang, Li Jiexiang, Li Jia, and Li Pengxin. Among the 20 fallen central-managed cadres related to Inner Mongolia, except for Shi Wenqing, Bai Enpei, and Yun Gongmin, 17 of them had direct ties to Hu Chunhua. The vast majority of them were promoted and heavily used by Hu Chunhua. But the issue extends beyond these individuals. The campaign to retrospectively investigate 20 years of coal-related corruption in Inner Mongolia alone has led to the sentencing of 56 department- and bureau-level officials. All of these individuals are intricately connected to Hu Chunhua. And these numbers do not even include numerous county- and section-level officials in key positions of real power. If we were to map out the connections between these 17 provincial-level officials and the 56 department-level officials, we would clearly see a web of power. The people whom Hu Chunhua promoted and appointed all held significant authority, engaged in massive corruption, and committed extremely severe offenses. Their conduct was particularly despicable. Any one of them, when singled out, is utterly filthy and corrupt to the core—an absolute disgrace.
