I Made Minecraft in 24 Hours!

I take on the challenge of building Minecraft in 1 day using the Unity Game Engine! In this challenge, I see how far I can get building Minecraft in 1 hour, 5 hours, and 1 day. I used mesh generation, procedurally generated terrain, an optimized player controller, and my fancy codebending skills in order to recreate Minecraft. I began with the 1 hour challenge where I was successfully able to built chunks and generate nice looking terrain, however I was not able to finish mining which is essential to Minecraft. In the 5 hour challenge, I was able to get a lot further in the game. I created trees, water, biomes, mining, and building blocks. The Minecraft trees were coded using a series of modifications that worked well for this video but can almost certainly be improved in an optimized version. Water was added by looking at the top of any given chunk drawing water at a specific height in no blocks are in the way. Finally, in the 1 day challenge I was able to make the game look extremely polished for a 1 day Minecraft challenge by adding beaches, caves, a new character named Bob The Blob and a lot more.
