Played piece: Chopin Nocturne op.9 no.2 a simplified arr. by Hans-Günter Heumann Recorded with iPad. I got this portable piano for travelling and practising late in the night without disturbing others. I also have an acoustic upright, and i tried many digital pianos before purchasing this one. It has unweighted keys, but feels much better than regular synth action. Anyways, however the cheapest hammer actions pianos feel better in terms of key weights, they are also not really similar to acoustic piano action, so for me it wasn’t worth to double the price. The keys are full size, but a little bit shorter, than on most of the pianos, which is not disturbing at all. Some says that keys are narrower than on normal pianos which is rather NOT true. Modern pianos have 160-165mm width octaves, and every single one is a little bit different. Np-12 has 160 mm, and that is kinda standard for uprights. My upright has 162,5mm, most of the grands has 165mm nowadays. 150 years ago around 155mm was standard. So the keys are kinda piano sized, it will not disturb you to get used to it at all. After all i am satisfied this little piano, i really needed something super portable that sounds relatively nice, andt the NP-12 does the job. For the price, it is truly a bargain. Obviously it won’t give you a feel of an acoustic piano, but for practising it is good, and i really enjoy to use it. Recommended.
