Mallard Nest Tube: Making and Setting-Up

A short 8 minute video showing how I made and set-up a Mallard Duck Nesting Tube. Hen mallards like to nest on the ground in the grass. This make them vulnerable to predators. Many hens are taken by dogs, cats, fox, mink, raccoon, coyote and skunk while sitting on the nest. It's said that only 5% of mallard eggs laid survive to hatch. Mallard Nesting Tubes, when placed over water can increase the hatch percentage to 90% and decrease the chance of a hen duck being taken by a land predator to 0.
