Another facet of the surgery is that drains or small tubes are not attached to the patient, as the patient can be made to stand for the dressing and excess fluid can be drained out, helping in the recovery process. Next, Dr. Aniketh states that after one week after surgery the patient can start brisk walking and start driving. After two weeks the patient can start cardio, light weight lifting and riding, but paying attention to limit chest exercises. After one month, the patient can get back to a regular lifestyle, including lifting heavy weights and so on. There will be a noticeable reduction in size in the first couple of days after the procedure. After the surgery skin contraction is what takes the most time.
