The dolmen Sa Coveccada, consisting of ignimbrites, stands at the center of a plateau of volcanic origin and was made the subject of investigations and excavations in 1962 by Prof. Atzeni. The monument consists of two large boulders orthostatic driven into the bedrock through the grooves specially created and then filled up. The top is covered by a single sheet which was originally to be longer; the back is open, while the front is closed by a single slab probably still intact. The latter has an upper part shaped gabled, while the lower part, shaped mo 'door, is very similar to the entrance to the Domus de Janas, or even at the door - in its lower part - the arched stele of the Tombs of giants. Here was born the eternal dilemma of classification chronological: some scholars placing the dolmen in the Late Neolithic (3200-2850 BC), by virtue of the development dolmen in the Western Mediterranean, while others place it in the Bronze Age (2000 BC) by hatch that recalls the stele of a tomb of the giants. In fact, the position is somewhat ambiguous: they have never been found debris clay and a special feature, the large niche carved inside the left side, appears similar to that found in the same hand, in the chamber of the Tomb Giants de Sa Dom'e S'Orku of Siddi, thereby reflecting the types of the Middle Bronze Age.
