Key points: Perform a site survey before choosing the safest route through any challenging terrain, such as avoiding wet ground, loose material, large obstacles or steep slopes. If wood chipper has two speed function, use slow speed on sloping and restrictive terrain and fast speed on open, flat terrain. Do not track over slopes greater than 30 degrees. When possible, track across the slope to minimum the tilt of the wood chipper. When tracking over a slope, ensure the operator is above the machine. Operators should constantly check for obstacles and keep knees bent to absorb unexpected impacts of the terrain.
