Increment and decrement operators are used to add and subtract one from a variable respectively. Both these operators can be used as prefix or postfix operators. The prefix operator first add or subtract one from the variable and perform the rest of the operation. Whereas the postfix operator first perform the operation and then add or subtract one from the variable. The increment operator is used to add one to the variable and the decrement operator is used to subtract one from the variable. These two operators are unary operators.
