Tailback Harold Green would go on to be drafted in the second round of the 1990 NFL Draft and would play most of his career with Cincinnati. He was selected to the Pro Bowl after rushing for over 1000 yards in 1992. The most memorable player from that squad, though, was future first-round pick WR Sterling Sharpe, who set what were at the time a number of records while playing at Carolina before beginning a record-setting NFL career that was unfortunately cut short by a neck injury in 1994.• Harold Green was very good physical back and 1000-yard rusher. Free Safety Brad Edwards who was a top db in college football in 87, would later go on to win a NFL championship with the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl 26. Clemson was still a national power in the 80s and nationally ranked 8th in the country, but the 1st ever night game for this rivalry would rule in the Garnet and Black’s favor. As the defense sticking true to it’s mantra holding the Tigers to 165 total years on 65 plays. a. After being down 7 to 6 at halftime. Late in the 4th quarter free safety Brad Edwards interceptions would seal the 20 to 7 victory for the Cocks and their 6 game winning streak. In actual the final game in 87 season, The streak would come to an end after a hard fought battle against eventual national champions the Miami Hurricanes. Late game turnovers turned out to be too costly for the Gamecocks as they would drop their season finale 20 to 16 in the Orange Bowl. They would finish the regular season 8 and 3. The Gamecocks would accept their invitation to the Gator Bowl, but the LSU Tigers was the real team to crash the party. They were absolutely prepared for the Gamecocks blitzing scheme. As the LSU Offense quickly attacked every hole in the gamecock secondary. The Tigers would go on to take care of the Gamecocks with no issues 30 to 13. I know at this point Gamecock Fans got to be thinking a Bowl game is just something we weren’t meant to win, but I guess that’s why they say patience is a virtue. ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ Please watch: "NEW PODCAST 2018 Gamecock Football (The M&M Episode 8 Part 2)" • NEW PODCAST 2018 Gamecock Football (The M&... ~-~~-~~~-~~-~
