Ghazwa-e-Badr was the first and one of the most important battles in Islamic history. It took place on 17th Ramadan, 2 AH, near the wells of Badr between the Muslims of Madinah led by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the Quraysh of Makkah. Despite being only around 313 in number, the Muslims showed strong faith, patience, and complete trust in Allah. The Quraysh army was nearly 1000 soldiers, well-equipped and confident. However, this battle proved that victory does not depend on numbers, but on ایمان (faith), unity, and reliance on Allah. Allah mentions the victory of Badr in the Qur'an, reminding believers that divine help comes to those who remain steadfast. The day of Badr is also known as “Yawm-ul-Furqan” — the Day of Criterion — when truth was clearly separated from falsehood. This historic event teaches us courage, sacrifice, obedience to leadership, and complete trust in Allah’s plan.
