The Emptiness of the Metaverse: Where Did the VR Users Go?

In this 3D video, I discuss the current state of the metaverse—namely, social VR platforms such as VRChat, Rec Room, and Meta Horizon—and why it is not shaping up the way Silicon Valley leaders (or cyberpunk stories) have said it would. While the most publicized social VR platforms may not appear to be living up to their hype, they can still help pave the way for the future of VR that is better suited to what VR can actually do and what users actually want from immersive experiences and virtual spaces.
