Making hard cider from apple juice is one great way to start making cider at home. To make hard cider at home, you need some basic homebrewing equipment and a few ingredients. I’ll show you what home brewing equipment I use, but feel free to get creative and utilize what you have on hand. To ferment your cider, you’ll at the very least need a carboy to ferment your cider made from juice in and some form of airlock. To start fermenting your hard cider from apple juice, you’ll need very few ingredients. I make this homemade cider using only fresh pressed apple juice, water and ale yeast. Sanitize your equipment! 2. Put 1 gal of juice into glass carboy. Check Specific Gravity. 3. SHAKE JUICE!!! 4. Add 1/2 tsp Yeast. 5. Place on air-lock. 6. Let cider ferment for 3 weeks 7. Check specific gravity. (Should be near 1.000) 8. Rack into clean container. 9. Add 1 cup cider 10. Bottle and enjoy in 2-3 weeks.
