This week we learned of the sudden passing of Billy Scanlan from heart issues. Billy was the NZ Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion in the early nineties and was quick to put his hand up to have a go at No holds Barred and Vale Tudor fights before they were to become known as MMA. Billy had a go at promoting, but one fighter told me he was way too generous with his payments to the fighters so that part of his career was short lived.
