63rd Water Talk on Understanding Water at a Young Age Join us for the 63rd Water Talk session organised by the National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR on 17th October 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM IST. Smita Vats, Founder-Director of ITIHAAS (Indian Traditions and Heritage Society), established in 2005, is a leading voice in India’s heritage sector, dedicated to bringing youth into mainstream heritage education, tourism, and management. She has trained and upskilled over 10,000 guides, including women and persons with disabilities, and works extensively with tourism departments across major states to design heritage walks and sustainable heritage practices. She also drives heritage education programmes reaching over five lakh students annually, conducts teacher training workshops, and develops specialised curriculum for schools and professionals. With a strong focus on water conservation awareness among students, she leads a team committed to connecting young people with heritage through hands-on learning. The edition will focus on helping young people understand the value of water through the lens of heritage and real-world experiences. It will highlight how early awareness, field-based learning, and responsible practices can shape young children into conscious water warriors.
