Celebrating February 14th in Bulgaria the Saint Trifon way. Saint Trifon Zarezan Day is a traditional festival of vines, winemakers, and wine, and I take you to a young vineyard near Arbanasi in the Veliko Tarnovo region to party. Novite Lozia (“New Vineyards”), the Bulgarian wine revival, local grape varieties, ancient rituals, and the folklore of Saint Trifon Zarezan. From vine pruning, festive bread, roast chicken, and barrel races, a little taste of Bulgarian culture, history, and winemaking traditions.
