Ting Bao, MD, MS, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, comments on the growing need for effective treatments for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), a common and debilitating side effect of chemotherapy that affects over half of cancer patients. Dr Bao highlights the potential of integrated medicine approaches, such as acupuncture and yoga, to reduce CIPN symptoms, which have shown promise in previous studies. Additionally, Dr Bao comments on the progress of two ongoing clinical trials for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) and its prevention through acupuncture and yoga, respectively. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
