Yesterday, I rowed in the Vesta International Masters Head of the River Race in London — and tragically, one of the competitors didn’t make it to the finish line. In this video, I reflect on the experience of racing while still recovering from illness, the dangers of pushing the human body to its limits, and why we continue to do difficult, risky things — even in the face of mortality. Life is fragile, and sometimes it takes a moment like this to remind us of what really matters.
