Welcome back to my Baltic travel series! In this vlog, we travel by bus from Vilnius to Riga and spend 2.5 days exploring Latvia’s beautiful capital city. Riga surprised me with its mix of medieval charm, striking Art Nouveau architecture, cozy cafés, and vibrant cultural history. On our first full day, we joined a free walking tour, which was the perfect way to get to know Riga’s Old Town and its hidden stories. Along the way, we visited: • Town Musicians of Bremen statue • House of the Blackheads – one of Riga’s most iconic buildings • Riga Cathedral & Dome Square – the heart of the Old Town • Swedish Gate & the Cat House – legends and architectural gems • Freedom Monument – one of Latvia’s most important national symbols • National Opera House • Art Nouveau District & Albert Street – the largest collection of Art Nouveau buildings in Europe • Central Market – a must-visit for local food and culture • National Library – a modern architectural landmark Riga is full of beauty and layered history, and exploring it slowly over a few days gave us time to enjoy the city at a relaxed pace.
