La valse d'amitié (Interlake Waltz) by Andy DeJarlis - Devon's Tune of the Day 257

For #MandolinMonday I wanted to try something different, like a waltz! Mandolins don't have a lot of sustain, so they're not the first choice for a waltz, but I just heard this really gorgeous one on an old cassette tape of Franco-American fiddler Omer Marcoux and I couldn't get it out of my head. "La valse de l'amitié" or "The Friendship Waltz" was written by Andy DeJarlis, who mainly recorded it as "Interlake Waltz", which is the better known name. It's a really pretty tune, but I think I need a bit more time with it to really learn some of the variations. The melody is open to a lot of interpretation. Real nice one and I kind of like it on the ol' mando!
