On May 29, 1914, one of the most horrifying maritime calamities of the 20th century unfolded in the St. Lawrence River in Canada. The Canadian Pacific Railway steamship "Empress of Ireland" was involved in a collision and sank in only fourteen minutes, taking with her 1,012 lives. Just as the Titanic did two years prior, the Empress of Ireland would not only change regulations in shipping, but history itself. This animation is a new, and horrifying look into the final hours of the Empress of Ireland; based entirely on a newly researched, and meticulously crafted timeline. This film will walk you through the events leading up to the collision, the sinking in real-time, and the aftermath in a highly accurate, and detailed manner. This film is dedicated to the 1,012 lives that were lost aboard the Empress of Ireland when she went down on May 29, 1914. May we never forget them. • Directed, researched, and animated by: Liam Sharpe 3D Models by: Lucas Gustaffson and Liam Sharpe Sound Design by: Liam Sharpe, and Taylor Uruski Music by: Jett Pendergrass, and Louis L Special Thanks to: Mike Brady, Kyle Hudak, Matthew DeWinkeleer, James Penca Extended Special Thanks to: The team at Ocean Liner Designs' Grand Voyage, and the team at Titanic: Honor & Glory for their huge support since the beginning of this project in April 2024.
