Iceland, called the Land of Fire and Ice, perfectly matches this description at the Hveradalir Geothermal Area in the highlands. I've visited many geothermal areas in Iceland, and hiking among boiling mud pools, hissing vents, and spouting geysers always feels surreal and magical, especially with the vivid geothermal colors. #hiking #highland #iceland #hvernig #europe #travel #tips #daytrip #reykjavik #4k #gopro We, a group of Pakistani travel buddies, hiked this mountain in 1st week of July and has lifetime experience. Hveradalir, which means 'the Valley of the Hot Springs,' is a great place for those interested in Iceland's unique geology. Located in the Highlands on the Kjolur Highland Road, Hveradalir can only be reached in summer. Although you can technically drive a two-wheel-drive car there, rental companies don't allow it, so it's best to rent a four-wheel-drive vehicle or join a tour. Hveradalir is one of Iceland's largest geothermal areas, featuring hot springs you can see up close and others you should view from a distance. The area is surrounded by the colorful rhyolite mountains of the Kerlingarfjoll range, offering beautiful scenery and excellent hiking opportunities. Among all the geothermal areas in Iceland, Hveradalir in Mt. Kerlingarfjöll is particularly impressive. It's one of the largest high-temperature geothermal areas in Iceland, with a unique and dynamic landscape that leaves a lasting impression.
