Thankfully, we’re in the middle of a streak of gorgeous weather! Amiyah and I headed to Gorges State Park to hike to several waterfalls. We started with a very short, quarter-mile round trip to the Upper Bearwallow Falls viewing platform where we got a bird’s-eye view of the large falls. Next, we hiked the popular Rainbow Falls, Turtleback Falls, and Drift Falls Trail. Coming in right around 5 tough miles, the out and back was super fun. The hike follows a river filled with small cascades and a big, unnamed waterfall easily accessed via the many rabbit trails off the main trail. Rainbow Falls was easily one of the most stunning falls I’ve seen, and it did, in fact, have a rainbow at the bottom! Turtleback and Drift were both beautiful as well but didn’t quite top Rainbow Falls. The trail was a lot of fun (blowdowns included), and I 10/10 recommend!
