National Ice Cream Day - JAXSON'S Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant

Happy National Ice Cream Day! Come take a tour of the famous Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant in Dania Beach, Florida! Founded in 1956 by Monroe Udell, Jaxson's is a South Florida gem! Live music soothes the eager customers awaiting tasty goodness inside. A small carousel, photo ops, and a Penny Press kick off the fun outside. Once you step inside, Jaxson's eclectic decor of collectibles and knickknacks instantly transports you back in time. There's an old fashioned candy shop with treats both new and old that also provides toys and stuffed animals. There are two dining rooms filled with antiques galore. A roving balloon artist crafts animals and characters for the little ones. On to the food! A large menu of deli sandwiches, large hot dogs, burgers, and more provides the first course. As for dessert... Sundaes, Banana Splits, Waffles, Floats, Parfaits, Sodas, Goblets, and more! There's also the famous signature "Kitchen Sink" for parties of 4 or more and the gigantic "Punch Bowl" for parties of 12 or more! Don't want to dine in? A take out window as well as an outdoor seating area is a good option for those in a rush. National Ice Cream Day is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of July in the U.S. It was signed into public law by President Ronald Reagan on July 9, 1984 with Presidential Proclamation 5219.
